
Dr. COLIN SINGER

Dr Colin Singer is a Specialist Dermatologist and fellow of the Australasian College of Dermatologists. He grew up and was educated in Scotland, graduating from the University of Aberdeen in 2004 having completed a Bachelor of Science degree and Medical degree. Following medical school, he gained experience in several surgical specialties including orthopaedics, general, vascular and ear, nose and throat.
Dr Singer completed GP training in 2011, having worked in general medicine, emergency, obstetrics and gynaecology. He emigrated to Perth with his wife in 2012, where he gained Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of General Practitioners and worked as a GP. He completed dermatology specialist training in New South Wales in tertiary hospitals including Sydney Children’s Hospital, The Skin Hospital, Westmead Hospital, Westmead Children’s Hospital, John Hunter Hospital and Royal Prince Alfred Hospital.
Dr Singer is committed to medical education and passing on his extensive experience to the next generation of doctors. He has taught at Notre Dame Medical School and is completing a Masters in Health Professional’s Education.

All aspects of medical dermatology such as eczema, psoriasis, hyperhidrosis and acne
Dr Singer provides holistic, effective, practical solutions and is a great advocate of skin health promotion and disease prevention.
When he is not working, he enjoys cooking, film and playing/watching soccer, golf and tennis.

An experienced and passionate medical educator, including having taught at Notre Dame Medical School and a lead trainer of GP registrars. Dr Singer is currently completing a Masters in Health Professional’s Education.

Collaboration with GPs and other specialists to optimise patient outcomes.

An extensive general practice background provides a unique understanding of the complex interplay between internal physical health conditions (such as high blood pressure, diabetes, thyroid disease, cancer and cardiovascular disease among other conditions) and medications (such as statins, blood pressure drugs, blood thinners, anti-inflammatories or steroids) and the effect they can have on the skin.

A background in surgery, including membership of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow, with training posts in orthopaedics, general surgery and ENT, in addition to several years of skin surgery as a GP in Australia and then 4 years training in dermatological surgery in Australia, has provided a broad surgical skill set including complex biopsies, excisional surgery and skin graft and flap reconstructions, as well as collaboration with plastic surgeons for cosmetically sensitive areas as required.
